Social Distancing With TUSHY

We are in this together from afar.

We’re all anxious. And that’s ok. These are unprecedented times but we’re here and in this together. This is why, from our respective homes, we at TUSHY wanted to give you a bit of insight into how we are coping with social distancing to hopefully inspire you to stay in. Stay positive. And stay safe.

Miki - Founding Gluteus Maximus

Yoga is a practice that connects the body, breath, and mind. It uses physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation to improve overall health. Miki has been spending some of her newfound free time teaching her two-year-old son Hiro about yoga. While experiencing cabin fever, below are some at-home workouts that I do if of interest to you all (even for you dudes on this thread :-)). I also highly recommend the Insight Timer app (it’s free!) and it has all kinds of meditations on there including just plain gong timers. Doing a meditation every day for 20 minutes will really calm the nerves during this extra wild times.

7 min Rajio Taiso 12
10 min Booty Burn
7 min Toning Legs
10 min. Tone Arm Workout

Jason - Cheek Executive Officer

Calm and center yourself. Jason has carved out time to meditate twice a day Social Distancingand to go on runs every morning. Meditation is a mind and body practice that has a history of use for increasing calmness and physical relaxation, improving psychological balance.

Justin - Cheek Pooperations Officer

Social DistancingSome of us are lucky to have a quarantine buddy. Justin and his girlfriend have decided to take walks together at sunset just to get some fresh air and stay grounded together. It’s also nice to cook together or play board games or just dance! It can be easy to get on each other's nerves and to require alone time when your trapped in the house with someone but carve out some intentional together time and check-in with each other.

Andy - Growth Marketing Poo-rector

Andy has decided to become an amateur botanist. He’s already a very proud plant dad and iSocial Distancings continuing to add to his personal jungle. Houseplants are good for your health — and not just for their visual beauty. They release oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide. This not only freshens up the air, but also eliminates harmful toxins. Extensive research by NASA has revealed that houseplants can remove up to 87 percent of air toxin in 24 hours.

Corin - Content Fanny-ger

Social DistancingCorin has been cosplaying. It’s hard to say whether or not this is beneficial for her health but it’s what makes her happy.  She’s even started a TikTok (@cococoscom). Now is a great time to start that hobby that you love and never had the time or the guts to do. Share with your online community. They will love it… or they will worry about you. Both sentiments are welcome.

Roselyn - ASSociate Marketing Manager

Reality TV is a great way to escape our current reality. Watching other peoples Social distancingcrazy can be a welcome distraction from the real crazy. That is why Roselyn is choosing to Keep Up With The Kardashians. There truly is nothing like the antics of Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Kylie, Kendal, Kris, Kanye....geez, how many "K" names can there be in one dang family?!

Cindy - Graphic Design Fartist

Social DIstancingCindy is a hard-core gamer and she is patiently waiting for the release of the new Animal Crossing. In the meantime, she’s playing all 13 unplayed games she has for her Nintendo Switch. Video games, whatever your system, are fun as hell and there’s a great community element to it. You can play with friends or you can start a Twitch and broadcast to everyone.

Hana - Graphic Design Fartist

Are your hands feeling fidgety? Does your anxiety manifest with you biting your Social Distancingnails or picking at things. Try cross-stitching or knitting like Hana! knitting has a measurable effect on calming anxiety and relieving stress. In one international survey, a strong connection was revealed between knitting and feelings of calm and happiness. And there is a big online community of knitters out there ready to welcome you into their circle.

Zac - Product Development and Design ASSociate

Social DistancingIt seems like a reasonable time to indulge your vices. Some people may choose to “stay hydrated” like Zach to relax, others may choose to get a little herbal and others may choose to “love” themselves a little bit more than usual. Go for it! Enjoy! Just as long as you maintain a healthy relationship with those things and know your limits. It can be easy to use them to escape but stay present with yourself. You need you, right now.

Parker - Poo-duct Designer

Of course, we all love binging and some of us may be looking for new shows toSocial Distancing start watching but there are a lot of great old shows out there and you can binge a full series. Parker started Avatar: The Last Airbender and we love that for him. Yip Yip!

Ashley - Pooperations Intern

In times like this, our creativity is begging to be unleashed. You may have a lot of Social DIstancingfeelings that you gotta get out but you can’t put it into words. Try painting. Ashley has been painting a lot more because she finds it cathartic and the end result is always something that she’s proud of.

Gibson - TUSHY Godsend

Being inside all day can have you going stir crazy and can also deplete you of Social Distancingthat sweet drug called vitamin D, especially if you are a city dweller. There are ways to take in the sun without physically interacting with folks. Gibson has chosen to relax on her roof with an air mattress and a good book.

We hope this gives you some inspiration on how to pass the time. We care about you, your health and your mental well-being. Tell us what you're doing to in your social distancing, too!
